During one of my travels in Venice, I bought at the station the book of a certain Mr. Eden. I was intrigued by his surname and by its passion for the botany. He had created at La Giudecca, a real "Garden of Eden", with a collection of flowers and plants among the most beautiful and rarest. In vain, I looked for this garden, there was only the legend. Why not make it live again?
Then was born the idea, a little bit crazy, about a jewellery collection of an extrimely beauty and fragility. To realize it, I tested severely the ability and the patience of my craftsman of Murano, capable of making incredible things with the glass. So is born the Eden necklace, compound of slender blades of grass and of bouquets of flowers and clovers. By far, we perceive only the greenery then, by approaching, appear tiny insects which transport you in an enchanted microcosm.
The idea fascinated me enormously, but I thought that that jewellery would be unsaleable: too fragile, too difficult to wear. I wondered if it was worth it… it was so crazy! Contrary to all expectations, Eden became one of my biggest success, a timeless. I had no return of broken pieces or complaints for its fragility.
The woman who chooses this collection has to love it to such a point that she brings it an extreme attention. In Japan, it was an exceptional success and, to the Boutique des Jardins at the Tuileries in Paris, it was exhausted at once.

Durant l’un de mes déplacements à Venise, j'avais acheté à la gare le livre d'un certain Mr. Eden. qui vivaient dans le début du XIXe siècle dans une grande villa sur la Giudecca. J’étais intrigué par son nom de famille et par sa passion pour la botanique. Il avait créé un véritable « Jardin d’Eden », avec une collection de fleurs et de plantes parmi les plus belles et les plus rares. En vain, j’ai cherché ce jardin, il n’en est resté que la légende. Pourquoi ne pas la faire revivre ?
C’est alors qu’est née l'idée un peu folle d'une collection de bijoux d'une beauté et d’une fragilité extrêmes. Pour la réaliser, j'ai mis à rude épreuve l’adresse et la patience de mon artisan de Murano, capable de faire des choses incroyables avec le verre. Ainsi est né le collier Eden, composé de minces brins d'herbes et de bouquets de fleurettes et de trèfles. De loin, on ne perçoit que la verdure puis, en s’approchant, apparaissent des insectes minuscules qui vous transportent dans un microcosme enchanté.
L'idée me fascinait énormément, mais je pensais que les bijoux seraient invendables : trop fragiles, trop difficiles à porter. Je me suis demandé si cela valait la peine tant c’était fou. Contre toute attente, Eden est devenu l’un de mes plus grand succès, un intemporel. Je n’ai eu aucun retour de pièces cassées ni de plaintes pour sa fragilité.
La femme qui choisit cette collection doit l’aimer à tel point qu’elle lui apporte une attention extrême.
Au Japon, ce fut un succès exceptionnel et, à la Boutique des Jardins des Tuileries à Paris, elle a tout de suite été épuisée.

Eden – ha una storia molto particolare. Avevo letto in un libro di un certo Mr.Eden che viveva ai primi dell’ottocento in una grande villa alla Giudecca. Coerente col suo cognome era un botanico appassionato ed aveva fatto del suo giardino un vero”Giardino dell’Eden” con vere collezioni di fiori e piante e tra le più belle e rare.
L’ho cercato invano nei miei viaggi a Venezia. Del suo giardino è restata solo la leggenda. Perché non farla rivivere?
E’ nata così l’idea un po’ folle di una collezione di Bijoux molto originali di una bellezza e fragilità estrema.
Solo a Venezia esistono ancora abili artigiani che fanno cose incredibili col vetro, veri e propri gioielli.
Nasce così il collier di sottilissimi fili di erba in vetro che si incrociano con fiori e trifoglio.
Da lontano vedi solo erba e fiori.
Da vicino cominciano ad apparirti minuscoli insetti ed entri con loro in un microcosmo incantato.
L’idea mi affascinava moltissimo ma pensavo fosse invendibile. Troppo fragile, troppo difficile da portare. Mi sono chiesto se era davvero il caso di farlo… era folle. Ed invece Eden è presto diventata una delle mie collezioni di maggior successo, un evergreen e mai la parola fu più appropriata. Chissà?
Forse perché nessuno ha osato tanto e stranamente non ho avuto di ritorno pezzi rotti o lamentele per la sua fragilità. Evidentemente chi sceglie questa collezione deve amarla a tal punto da sopportare il duro esercizio di attenzione a cui viene costretto. In Giappone è in assoluto la più apprezzata e alla Boutique des Jardins nei giardini della Tuilerie è andata subito a ruba.
